A project given the green light months ago is going to come to fruition soon as the site of a new Mini Pitch at the Boys and Girls Club being provided in a joint effort between the City of Cedartown and Atlanta United is ready for the final steps.
First it required a site clearing, and now the asphalt is down for the future Mini Pitch just off to the side of the Boys and Girls Club on Queen Street in Cedartown.

This project is made possible thanks to a grant covering much of the cost from Atlanta United at $75,000. The City of Cedartown provided $50,000 toward the project in matching funds.
Musco will be completing the work on the surface, which will feature an smaller footprint than the usual soccer pitch. An acrylic-based top with a design will be laid down on the now-added asphalt from Polk County.
The surface isn’t the only thing the mini pitch will feature. Bleachers and lighting will be installed around it.
