VOLLEYBALL: Lady Bulldogs remain in the mix heading into final weeks of regular season

The Cedartown Lady Bulldogs are hanging in there on the court with a fourth place spot in region play and opportunities to come over the final weeks of the season to remain in playoff contention.

They’ve got a homestand against Woodland and Paulding County this evening that gives them a chance to continue improving their 17-13-1 record, but they’ve got to hang in there for three more region matchups to remain in the mix for the playoffs, despite a 2-5 record currently in 7-4A.

The Lady Bulldogs come into Thursday’s matches against the Lady Patriots and Lady Wildcats off of two region losses in Carrollton against Central and Heritage.

Both times up in the round robin, the Lady Bulldogs fell 2-0. Heritage took their contest 25-10 and 25-17, while Central rounded out the evening with a 25-15, 25-21 pair of wins in their match.

The upcoming games are good chances for the Lady Bulldogs to regain their footing at home before having to get back into region play. Paulding sits at 1-17 on the season and 0-3 in region play, while Woodland is 10-19 overall and is 2-2 in their region.

Cedartown has Sonoraville and Central at home on Sept. 26, followed by Coosa on the road on Sept. 28. They round out the season with Chattooga and Southeast Whitfield on October 3 on the road, and South Paulding and Rockmart on Oct. 4 for homestands.

Check back for more on the Lady Bulldogs heading into their final run into the rest of the regular season.
