The Rockmart Lady Jackets deserve a well-earned rest this weekend after they have put up five victories in a row over the past two weeks.

Ringgold, Cedartown, Murray County, North Cobb Christian and Union County have all fallen way to the Lady Jackets since September 5, with the latest victory a shutout over Union County on the road on Wednesday at 9-0.

Last weekend’s game against rival Cedartown on the road ended with a 4-3 win.

The Lady Jackets are 13-3 more than halfway through the season, with their only losses to Hebron Christian, Sonoraville in region play, and North Cobb in non-region play on the road.

Rockmart sits at second place in Region 7-AA with an 8-1 record. The Lady Phoenix sit just ahead of them at 8-0 in region play.

Coming up this week: Rockmart hosts rival Cedartown on Monday in a 6:30 p.m. game, followed by Coahulla Creek in region play at home this coming Tuesday, and then North Murray on Thursday, Sept. 19.

LFO and Sonoraville round out the month of September on the road in Fort Oglethorpe and Sonoraville. Those games are on Sept. 25 and Sept. 26, respectively.

The regular season wraps up in October with Ringgold on the road on Oct. 1, Murray County at home on Oct. 2 for their final homestand of the regular season, then trips to North Cobb Christian on Oct. 8, and to Trion on Oct. 10.
