The season is over for the Rockmart Lady Jackets, but they surely gave it their all in their final outing against a region foe during the Class AA tournament in Columbus this evening.
Rockmart fell to Sonoraville 12-8 in the opening round of the loser’s bracket with the opportunity to keep the season alive after falling in the Elite Eight round against Morgan County.
Sonoraville took the victory into the next game against Stephens County in hopes they’ll keep their season alive with an upcoming matchup on Friday, November 1 at 3 p.m.
The other 7-AA squad left in action was Union County, who is still alive after falling to Morgan County (on their way to a matchup with Appling County in the winner’s bracket on Friday.)
Union is still alive as well, attempting to keep the season going as they face Pike County on Friday afternoon.
Rockmart’s season closed with a 23-7 record overall and going 12-4 in region play. They fell twice to top-seeded Sonoraville during their region matchups during the regular season.
