The Rockmart Lady Jackets held on against all comers this season to make it to the Class AAA playoffs again, but they couldn’t keep their run alive and fell in a tough Game 3 loss to Oconee County to end their season on Thursday.

Rockmart fell 9-8 in the final game of the first-round series to the Lady Warriors after splitting a win and loss on Wednesday in the opening doubleheader of the series.

The Lady Jackets took a Game 1 win 3-1 over Oconee, then fell 11-4 to the Lady Warriors in Game 2 to force the tie-breaker on Thursday.

Rockmart’s season concluded with a 18-13 record and a 12-6 finish in Region 6-AAA, finishing out in a one-game playoff against Ringgold in region play.

6-AAA opponents Ringgold, Sonoraville and LaFayette all advanced to the second round with wins in their first-round games.
