Rockmart High School’s football program got a much-needed boost of laundry detergent and water thanks to their annual “Soap Game” football practice session held this past Friday.

The July 28 event held ahead of scrimmage games gave fans the chance to watch the Jackets football squad and how they’re developing ahead of the 2023 season. However, it wasn’t without a longer than expected delay.

Fans who came for the 8 p.m. start had to wait a while for lightning delays as storms in the surrounding area kept causing flashes and thunder. The Jackets did eventually take the field, but it was more than an hour after they intended.
