A Rockmart teen was announced as a scholarship winner who will be honored further at a gala in March.

A Teen’s Choice Inc. honored RHS Senior Shaelyn Wise as a Teen’s Choice Scholarship recipient for the Class of 2023.

Wise, the daughter of Lynne Mitchell and Delrico Wise, is an honor student, a four year member of the basketball cheer squad, a senior representative on the 2022 Homecoming Court and member of Student Council, Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy, Superintendents Advisory Council, National Honor Society, and SkillsUSA Healthcare.

She plans to head to school to work on a Bachelor’s degree and take up pediatric nursing.

Wise will be honored on March 11 when A Teen’s Choice, Inc. hosts their second annual scholarship gala at the Rome Civic Center.

A Teen’s Choice Inc. announced Wise as one of four scholarship winners the organization is honoring this year on Feb. 18. Rockmart High shared the news on their Facebook last week.

Congrats to Wise and other scholarship recipients throughout the Polk School District.
