Some good news for a pair of local runners who are regulars along the Silver Comet Trail, as they were able to take part in a virtual marathon that is normally held in Ohio annually, but this year had to be run at an individual’s choice of racecourses.
Two local runners recently completed the 25th edition of the Air Force Marathon on home turf after the event – originally scheduled for September 18th at the Wright-Patterson base in Dayton, Ohio – was forced to go virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gwen Tuck, 59, and Larry Kuglar, 76, ran the 26.2 miles on the Silver Comet Trail beginning at Coot’s Lake, out to the Rambo Trailhead, and then back to Rockmart.
Tuck finished 86th out of 428 participants in a time of 4:22:13 and Kuglar in 216th place in 5:19:52.
Both runners wish to thank the Paulding County trail maintenance crew, the Paulding County Sheriff‘s Department, Raymond, Elaine, and Craig Kuglar for their encouragement and support.
