Late to sleep, late to rise. That is what the experience of rest has been lately for me, requiring some late hours to try and accomplish all the things I want to in a single day. I wish sometimes that I had five exact copies of me running around out there doing my bidding, but then remember I would have to feed and house them all. Those kinds of dreams always come with a Catch 22.
So a quick note just to remind you of the importance of a good sleep schedule for maintaining a normal and healthy lifestyle. Making sure you get a full 8 hours a night and trying to go to sleep around the same time each night will not only improve your mental health but help your overall physical health by giving the body time to regenerate and heal during overnight hours.
Please, follow my advice and get some quality rest when you can. It’ll be the start of the school year before you know it. Establish a good sleep schedule now to avoid future issues, especially when students have to get up early to catch the bus. You don’t want to miss those alarms.
In the News

A few items that have gotten my attention this morning.
First, a note of congratulations to a Ronnie Baldwin. I spotted this on Facebook, and I’ll be honest since it was in the Polk County Historical Society group it might be old news and I’m just not informed on this one at all.
However, Mr. Baldwin is reported to have served youth for the past 47 years with Cedartown Youth Baseball. Either way, he deserves our collective thanks for providing so many years of service to children in recreation sports. Good on you, sir!
I meant to share this next item on Wednesday, but it somehow slipped through the cracks on me and I completely goofed on grabbing the graphic in question from the Polk County Police Department.
It is vitally important that when you consider what you’re putting on your car, you remember that to you it might be cool stickers and messages about who you are as a person. For criminals, it is an encyclopedia of what value your items might hold if they were to steal from you.

SO PAY ATTENTION. LOCK YOUR CARS ALL THE TIME. And use the above as a handy guide of what not to do.
Today’s forecast
Expect more rain is the basic news on today’s forecast. The National Weather Service calls for stormy weather mainly after 2 p.m., with rain hanging around through the evening hours. High of 89, but heat index values are going to make it feel more like 99. Expect at least a tenth of an inch of rain, probably closer to a quarter inch. Overnight temps down to 71.
