A group of senior Bulldogs joined local standout CJ Washington after his commitment the University of Georgia in December with a ceremony of their own this afternoon.

Jai Barnes, Jordon Johnson, Donald Knight, and Demarieo Sims all added their names to commitment papers with schools of various sizes, making them the latest four to find homes in college football programs near and far.

Staying closest to home is Demarieo Sims, who is planning to continue in college with the Shorter University Hawks in Rome.

Donald Knight signed with the Georgia Military College Bulldogs in Milledgeville.

The Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs in Boiling Springs, North Carolina will get the talents of Jai Barnes on their field in the coming years as the private school got him to commit in recent days.

But the player heading the furthest away grom home is Jordon Johnson, who is making his way to Northwest Mississippi Community College to play for the Rangers out of Senatobia, Mississippi.

The group all announced in recent days their plans to head off to colleges around the southeast on social media.

That brings the total number of signees in Cedartown athletics to 6 since December, when Washington and Marycille Brumby announced their plans to head off to schools and play athletics as they join the Class of 2022.

Washington, who finished out his academic work in December, is already in Athens at the University of Georgia. Brumby is University of North Georgia bound this coming fall.

Family, friends and teammates gathered at CHS for the singing day activities earlier this afternoon.

The four are just some of the many who are committing on National Signing Day across the county.
