FOOTBALL: Bulldogs win big 44-8 on road at Northwest Whitfield

The Cedartown Bulldogs are showing themselves to thus far be the top dawg in 7-AAAA football, with their second win in a row this past week on the gridiron as they moved to 4-2 on the regular season.

The Bulldogs put up a big offensive effort on the road against the Bruins, with CJ Washington getting in the end zone four times on the night, Harlem Diamond adding a touchdown on the ground and Jayden Johnson getting a score in as well.

Cedartown ended the night with 333 yards overall on the night – 320 of those on the ground alone – and put up 15 first downs against a Bruins team that had just 151 yards of total offense on the night and put up their only score of the night late against the Bulldogs defense.

Last Friday’s road win kept the Bulldogs on a hot streak with their fourth in a row after they fell to Rockmart and Calhoun at the open of the season.

Next up for Cedartown is a road trip up to Ridgeland just near the Tennessee-Georgia state line for an October 30 showdown. Ridgeland sits in second place in region play behind the Bulldogs at 1-0, having a week off before they host Cedartown.

Their lone win of the season against Heritage came after a five-game skid against Rabun, Dalton, Ringgold, Calhoun and Cass. They finally won out over Heritage-Catoosa.
