The Cedartown Recreation Department is gearing up for fall sports coming up, and youth can participate in everything from flag football to soccer in the months to come after spring sports didn’t work out due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Registration is underway for tackle football for second to fifth grade, sixth grade and flag football for kindergarten and first graders. Both flag football and tackle football are also seeking cheer squads for the fall 2020 season, ranging from second to fifth grade and sixth grade for tackle, and kindergarten and first grade for flag cheer.
Softball players 5 to 12 years old are also being sought out for the recreation league. Soccer leagues range from 5 to 10 years old, and 11 years old.
Registration begins on from 5 to 7 p.m. this evening at the Bert Wood Youth and Athletic Center’s gym, and continues this coming Thursday, then July 7, July 9, July 14 and July 16 during the same times.
Cash, check and credit card are accepted for fees.
Tackle football is $60, flag football and all levels of cheerleading are set at $40, softball is $45 and soccer at both levels is $40 per youth.
Registration will require parents to have a copy of a child’s birth certificate on file before anyone is permitted to participate. Officials ask that it be on hand when signing up for a sport.
