It just wasn’t Rockmart’s year.

The Lady Jackets found themselves in a rough spot, facing the Mount Paran Christian Lady Eagles in the opening round in the fourth seed, and didn’t make it past a trip to Kennesaw to close out the 2023-24 season on Tuesday.

Rockmart fell 76-29 to the Lady Eagles to round out this year’s campaign with a 17-11 record, finishing 6-6 in Region 7-AA in the fourth spot in both regular season and the region tournament.

The Lady Jackets fell in their last three outings to finish the year.

The rest of 7-AA remain alive in the Class AA tourney this year. Model knocked off Therrell in a 67-37 home matchup, Fannin County topped North Cobb Christian in a 65-37 road game, and region champ Murray County knocked off Washington with a 70-34 victory.

Murray faces Union County in the second round, while Columbia hosts Fannin County and Banks County hosts Model for the Sweet 16 in the Class AA tournament.
