The season isn’t officially underway for the Rockmart Lady Jackets basketball team, but they did get an unofficial win under their belts thanks to a stellar performance from senior Keyarah Berry.

She put up 33 points, 12 rebounds, had 5 assists and 4 steals in the Lady Jackets’ 64-48 scrimmage win over Bowdon.

Megan Little put up 9 points of her own on the evening, grabbing 2 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal in the process. Analee Morris also added 6 to the scoreboard, Taylor Turner put up 5 points of her own, and Brandi Jones added 2 points.

The first outing for the Lady Jackets is being followed up this Saturday afternoon at Villa Rica as both the boys and girls are scheduled to open their season on the road. They open the region at Adairsville on December 1, followed by Sonoraville on December 4 and Rome on December 5. Rockmart teams won’t host their first home game until December 11, when Coahulla Creek comes for a visit.
