BASKETBALL: Lady Bulldogs struggling this year, fall to NW Whitfield in road trip

The Cedartown Lady Bulldogs have thus far traveled down a rocky road through the end of 2021, and the bumps and potholes continued to open the New Year and the second half of the season.

The Lady Bulldogs fell to Northwest Whitfield 64-26 during their Tuesday night trip to Tunnel Hill, their fifth loss in a row and the opening game on their schedule for 2022.

Cedartown’s skid began with a hard loss to Spring Garden on Dec. 16, 77-12. They fell 77-23 on Dec. 21, then took a 67-6 loss to East Paulding, and a 53-23 loss to Bremen in holiday tournament action.

Earlier season games included a season-opening win over Cartersville 43-31, a pair of losses in region play to Pickens and Heritage, and then a win over Southeast Whitfield 45-32.

That puts Cedartown at 2-7, and 1-3 in region play on the season for the year.

The Lady Bulldogs return to play on Saturday at Cartersville in a non-region contest on the road, a Tuesday trip to Central Carroll afterward, then a homestand over Ridgeland on Jan. 14.

Check back for updates during the inaugural Hoops Highlights show on Sunday from Cartersville.
