The Rockmart Yellow Jackets took a 54-39 victory on Saturday evening to sweep the Cedartown Bulldogs for the season, heading into their final regular-season outings this coming week.

That made it three-in-a-row for Rockmart this season against Cedartown since they won over the cross-county rival in holiday tournament play in December, then a 67-46 win on the road when the Bulldogs hosted on January 22.

Rockmart now sits at 16-8 after taking a loss on the road to Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe on Jan. 31, and winning over Ringgold on Friday night at home.

Cedartown’s loss in the rivalry matchup puts the squad at 9-11 overall, but 6-4 in region play and in second place in 7-AAAA with an opportunity this season to go to the playoffs and host.

The Jackets play in their regular-season closer on Tuesday hosting North Murray for Senior Night. Cedartown has two more on the road this week, heading to Ridgeland in what would have been the season closer, but a rescheduled game against Pickens on Feb. 10 was added to the schedule due to weather in past weeks.
