The Bruins got the better of the Cedartown Bulldogs in a trip up to Tunnel Hill as Northwest Whitfield came away with the region victory in a 66-52 final on Tuesday night.
That puts the Bulldogs at 4-6 on the season and continues an up-and-down season that started with a loss to Cartersville, followed by a follow-up win over Pickens to open region play.
Sitting at 2-2 in 7-4A play at the moment, the Bulldogs have the aforementioned win over Pickens and picked up a victory at home on Dec. 14 over Southeast Whitfield, but took a hit against Heritage 57-52 on the road on Dec. 10, and last night against Northwest Whitfield.
They took a non-region win and loss to Temple and Carrollton, respectively in December as well.
During the holiday tournament in Haralson, the Bulldogs faced rival Rockmart and fell by one to the eventual tourney champ. They did pick up a consolation win over Haralson County 52-27 before getting to take off for New Years.
Cedartown will be back in action on Saturday in non-region play at Cartersville looking to even the score with the ‘Canes after the season opener where the Bulldogs took a one-point loss. They then travel to Central on Jan. 11, host Ridgeland on Jan. 14, and hit the road to face Pickens on Jan. 18.
