The Rockmart Yellow Jackets will have to wait for a trip to Adairsville, but will be back in action this week after a move in the schedule was announced on Tuesday.
Both the boys and girls teams who were planning to play on Friday in a trip to Bartow County will now have to wait until Thursday, January 20 to play against the Tigers and Lady Tigers.
Game times have been set for 6 and 7:30 p.m. for tipoff for the Lady Jackets and Jackets respectively next Thursday.
No word yet on why the games were moved on the schedule, but PSW has reached out to Rockmart boys coach Vic Calhoun for more information.
The Jackets and Lady Jackets are back in action on Saturday in a road trip to Summerville to play against Chattooga in a non-region contest.
The Rockmart boys squad head into the game with a 9-5 record overall and sit at 4-4 in the region in fifth place.
After a loss on Monday, the Lady Jackets fell to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in the region standings, sitting at the fifth-place spot as well.
Rockmart’s girls fell to Coahulla Creek in a 63-25 loss on the road.
Following the Saturday trip to Chattooga, Rockmart returns to region play to face Sonoraville on Jan. 18 in region play.
