BASKETBALL: Bulldogs get bounced in Week 1 play

The Cedartown Bulldogs basketball team will need a chance to regroup in the coming days, but the good news is they have the week off to come up with their next game plan before facing Haralson County.

After a season opening loss 64-58 on December 2 to Heard County on the road, The Dawgs had a chance to get a W in the scoring book after a trip to Armuchee, a 73-69 win over the Indians to get back to even on Tuesday.

Things went sour for the weekend for Cedartown as the season home opener found the Bulldogs in a catfight with the Temple Tigers and fell 71-54 on Friday, then got raided by East Paulding in a 74-50 loss on the road on Saturday.

So four game into the season, Cedartown sits at 1-3 overall and needs a chance to regroup.

The good news? They have the week off to get it together before hosting Haralson County on December 16. But they’ll have a shorter holiday break before getting into tournament play on December 20 through December 22 ahead of Christmas, and then begin a tournament against Haralson again on December 27 through December 29.

Stats weren’t immediately available for the opening season games from this past week.

Cedartown will get into region play coming up at the beginning of January.
