Rockmart’s weekend plans might have been changed due to the washout weather at week’s end, but spirits weren’t dampened one bit after they put up a clean sweep over rival Cedartown this week.

The Jackets won Game 1 at home on Tuesday, Feb. 27 in a 12-2 victory, then turned right round and did it again with a 12-1 win on the Bulldogs home turf on Thursday, Feb. 29 in a game moved up on the calendar to accommodate the weather.

Box score stats weren’t available for either of the games.

Rockmart’s extended their win streak to four off of solid wins starting with Sonoraville on Feb. 22, followed on by a win over Lamar County 7-3 the following day on Feb. 23.

That puts the Jackets at 4-3 overall heading into a weekend game starting this afternoon against Ringgold up in Northwest Georgia after rain ruined the plan to play at AT&T Field in Chattanooga, home of the Lookouts. (Check back for an update on that score when available.)

Rockmart then has a region opener on Tuesday at Gordon Central, followed on Wednesday by a trip to Cartersville before a double header on Thursday coming up to close out the series against the Warriors.

Cass will come calling on March 11, and then Rockmart has away games at Lovett and at East Coweta on the docket on March 12 and March 14.

Region play resumes with Murray County at home on March 19 for a game, before a double header up north against the Indians on March 22.
