A Thursday loss to South Paulding on the road turned out to be the season opener after the Monday date was called off due to wet weather against Calhoun.

The Spartans took a 11-10 win over the Bulldogs on their home turf on Thursday, and that was followed up by Cedartown notching another 5-1 loss to Westminster in weekend play on Saturday.

Unfortunatey, PSW didn’t have full box scores or stats to look at during the time of posting.

The opening games this week put the Bulldogs at 0-2 early in the season, but they have a chance coming up later this week and weekend to make up for the losses.

Cedartown has Benedictine, Bremen, Pierce County and Rockmart on the schedule coming up over the next four games.

The Friday standoff against Benedictine is set for a first pitch at 7 p.m. on February 23, followed by a 1 p.m. start on Saturday, February 24 against Bremen, and a 7 p.m. game on the 24th against Pierce.

Rockmart hosts the Bulldogs on Feb. 27 at 5:45 p.m. for a first pitch, and the Bulldogs open the month of March hosting the rival Jackets for a 5:30 p.m. start.
