The Cedartown Bulldogs baseball season has been a mixed bag this year so far.

Sitting at 4-10, the Dawgs went on an unusual 8-game skid to open the year and even gave up two in a row to rival Rockmart heading into March.

The bleeding finally stopped with a trio of wins in recent days over Ringgold, Northside and the first region win over Central earlier this week.

Carrollton and the Lions dealt another two losses on Wednesday and Thursday, but Cedartown bounced back and sit at third place in early Region 7-4A play after fighting for a 9-6 finish and the win on Thursday evening. (Full stats weren’t available, but a replay can be watched on WGAA here. – KtE)

Bulldogs fans will get a chance to watch the home team again on Tuesday when they host Heritage for the first of three in the region series, and head north to Catoosa County on Friday to round out their games with the Generals.

Northwest Whitfield follows as the Bruins seek to knock Cedartown out at month’s end on the road in the series opener on March 26, and returning home on March 29 for the double header.
