Stormy weather is on the way this evening and later on overnight that could get nasty, per National Weather Service forecasts for tonight and heading into Wednesday morning.
Per the Peachtree City forecasters, a wide swath of West Georgia might feel impact of gusty winds, periods of heavy rain and frequent lightning strikes. The worst of the impact based on Weather Channel futurecast radar (see below) is for storms to start impacting the area after 9 p.m.

This line of storms is predicted to bring winds in Polk County between 10 to 15 mph, and gusts as high as 20 mph tonight, and upward of 25 mph on Wednesday as the front continues to pass through the southeast. Rainfall tonight is going to be at least an inch and upward of two inches, and upward of another quarter inch on Wednesday morning.
Temperatures tonight are down to 57 after getting into the low 70s for the day. These conditions could provide the right mixture in the atmosphere for severe weather to turn tornadic, so remember tonight to be weather-aware.
After the storms pass, this bout of late-season warm weather as November closes will turn cold. Temps by Wednesday evening as work ends for the day are expected to get down to 53, and overnight lows are below freezing at 29 on Wednesday night.
The NWS hasn’t yet put any watches or warnings in place for the evening.
