Biden has ‘Aggressive Prostate Cancer’ per his office

Former President Joe Biden will now have to face a new fight after he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, according to a release from his office sent out to national media on Sunday.

Per an Associated Press story released late this afternoon, Biden was seen by Doctors last week when he was experiencing issues urinating when a prostate nodule was discovered.

The AP coverage noted that the cancer had spread to the bone.

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,” his office said. “The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.”

Biden’s health – especially his mental acuity – were the main focus of his campaign for re-election that came to a close in July 2024 after he stepped aside to allow former Vice President Kamala Harris to take over for his administration as the Democratic candidate.

The former President’s mental status was raised in recent days in a variety of venues and stories across the national conversation as new books have come out calling into question how much his staff might have covered up health issues suffered by Biden during the final two years of his administration. Additional skepticism was added with the release of more than five hours of audio an interview with the Special Counsel investigating the classified documents found in Biden’s garage.

Axios had the full audio available here:

The former President has been making additional news with interviews conducted by the BBC where he claimed his late exit from the 2024 Presidential campaign had no bearing on the outcome, took issue with Trump blaming his administration for current issues across the spectrum, and an otherwise lowkey response to the first 100 days of the new administration’s performance in office.
