SUBSCRIBER VIDEO: Cedartown City Commission Regular Session – April 2026
The Cedartown City Commission met for their April 13, 2026 regular session at 6 p.m. at City Hall with several items on the agenda for the evening, but first they open and closed a public hearing over a new restaurant-escape room concept planned for downtown, then held a longer public hearing over a proposed variance to allow overhead power lines at a planned development on North College Drive.
Commissioners also heard several requests for events, and honored local pastor at Cedartown First Presbyterian, Dave Grove. Rev. Grove will be retiring later this month after decades of service and was honored as well as one of the founders of the Cedartown Wheelchair 5K Road Race and Training Camp. (Commissioners also approved his final time before them requesting use of Peek Park and College Street on July 2, and Lankford Corner at the Silver Comet Trail Events Center for the Athlete’s dinner on July 1.)
The board also heard updates from City Manager Edward Guzman on ongoing projects before taking on several votes and ended the regular session with an executive session.
