Warrant served at hotel room leads to a trio arrested on drug charges

Rockmart Police arrested three people late in the evening on Wednesday when they went to serve one of the suspects in custody with a warrant, and found drugs and paraphernalia around a room at the Econo Lodge, according to reports.

Lola Marie Runyon, 31, of an Evergreen Lane address in Cedartown, had rented out a room at the Econo Lodge and was staying with Dakota Cheyenne Thurman, 18, and Mandy Kay Williams, 38, both of Rockmart addresses, was first taken into custody when they arrived at the hotel and Williams walked with officers to the room where the trio were staying to arrest Runyon on active warrants.

Once they had her in custody, an officer searched Runyon and was reported to have found a small quantity of Xanax, Clonazepam, and a bag of marijuana on her person, plus methamphetamine in another pocket. While this was going on, officers noticed that Thurman had spent time cleaning up the room while they were there.

They also received permission to search the room, and found a glass smoking pipe filled with suspected methamphetamine, and later found a note with all the items that she had in her possession, including other drugs and syringes within the room, which also detailed its location.

All three were taken to jail and the trio faced possession of methamphetamine and possession and use of drug related objects. They all three remained in jail without bond set yet on the charges.

In addition, Runyon also faces charges of two counts of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, a pair of drugs not in original container, and a felony probation violation.
