UPDATE: Man injured in Prior Station wreck likely to face charges

A Cedartown man will have a long road to recovery, but will likely face charges after a motorcycle wreck late Tuesday afternoon on Prior Station Road, according to police.

Officials noted that Jesse Jones Jr., 19, of a New Harmony Road address, suffered a broken leg and road rash after his bike went off an embankment on Prior Station Road near the intersection of Dry Creek Road.

He was airlifted from the scene due to his injuries at the time.

Police reported that Jones was first spotted on his motorcycle by an officer who was at the intersection of Highway 100 and Prior Station Road dealing with a tractor trailer that had broken down at the intersection.

After he went past the officer, he was spotted passing on a double yellow and forced another vehicle off the road.

Police were unable to catch up with Jones before his wreck occurred.

He will likely face charges in the coming days due to his driving.
