Tuck seeking her 5th term in office

Cedartown City Commissioner Dale Tuck long ago became the longest serving member of the board overseeing the the city government, but she wants to continue that time just a while longer.

Tuck turned in her paperwork and paid the fee this morning just before the lunch hour at the Board of Elections office to seek her 5th term in office. She’s in her second decade as a City Commissioner.

The longtime educator was first elected to office in 2011 and was during her second term the Commission Chair and Pro Tem. She is a member of the Downtown Development Authority as well representing the city.

Along with Tuck, Commissioner Andrew Carter is also up for election this year.

He’s in his second term in the seat and also previously served as Commission Chair during his time. Carter, station manager for WGAA Radio and voice of the Cedartown Bulldogs for many sporting events as well as an on-air DJ, will be looking at a third term in office if he qualifies this week.

Qualifying continues through week’s end at the Board of Elections for the Cedartown races as well as Aragon City Council’s three seats and the Mayor’s Race, and the Rockmart City Council’s two seats and the Mayor’s race.
