Additional charges are likely for two Miami, Florida men and a Canton woman after the trio were caught trying to leave with a load of pallets from Tractor Supply Company in Cedartown this past Friday night, according to Cedartown Police reports.
Officers arrested Jarvis De-Andre Stewart, 28, and Zytron Sands, 25, of Miami, Florida and Madeline Patrice Jackson, 37, of a Canton address on Friday morning, August, 5, 2022 around 1:50 a.m. when an officer watching Tractor Supply Company due to recent thefts watched as a truck with a trailer pulled into the Cedartown store and headed to the back.
When they returned to the front with a load of pallets, police were waiting and blocked their way. Officers got all three out of the truck and into handcuffs, and called up the store manager Matthew Ensley to come out and see what was happening. A CPD detective was also called out to the scene as well.
Ensley told officers that he recognized the truck from a previous incident, and that they use a service out of Alabama to come and get their pallets during normal business hours.
Officers questioned Jackson after she was read her rights and found out that she, Stewart and Sands had been going to businesses while they were closed to pick up pallets.
After hearing that, officers had reason to search the truck and found a check for more than $700 made out to Stewart from a pallet company in Atlanta, additional straps, and a notebook referencing other stores including the Tractor Supply in Cartersville, the location in Rome, and the Walmart in Rome.
“The notebook had other days listed with different businesses spreading to multiple jurisdictions,” the report stated.
Police decided to charge all three and they were booked into the Polk County Jail.
Stewart was released on a $12,000 bond on felony charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and second degree burglary. He also faces misdemeanor charges of loitering or prowling and criminal trespass. Jackson was also released on the same bond amount on the same charges.
Sands was also given a $12,000 bond but remained in custody as of this posting on the same charges as Stewart as well, but he also faces a felony probation violation charge.
Because other jurisdictions are likely involved, additional charges from around the area are possible for the trio.
