Expect the likelihood of rain, thunderstorms with wind and the potential for strong hail as the National Weather Service’s hazardous weather outlook predicts that for local and area counties for the afternoon and evening hours.
Storms are already moving into the area according to radar shots from Weather.com (the above static shot was saved at 1:20 p.m.) and the potential for more is expected as the afternoon moves into the evening hours.
The NWS forecast out of Peachtree City also calls for the potential for localized flooding if heavy rains persist in storms today.
The forecast is expected to have chances for stormy weather through the next seven days, but those decrease compared to what Polk County could be facing today.
