Skydive Spaceland Atlanta closes on Grady Road

Skydive Spaceland Atlanta – once the home of another skydiving business on Grady Road – announced that they have ceased operations for their metro area branch due to “economic challenges” they couldn’t overcome.

The company based in Texas and Florida will continue providing jumps out of the Houston and San Marcos locations, and their Clewiston location, per a posting on the Skydive Spaceland Atlanta website announcing the closure in recent days.

Skydive Spaceland posted the following on their Atlanta page:

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of our Atlanta/Rockmart skydiving business location. Due to the current and anticipated economic challenges, we have made the difficult decision to cease operations.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who have jumped with us over the years. Your enthusiasm, spirit, and passion for skydiving have made our journey truly unforgettable.

As we close this chapter, we encourage everyone who is able to continue their skydiving adventures with us at our other locations if you are able. Our business locations near Houston, Dallas, and San Marcos (Texas) and Clewiston (South Florida) will continue to operate and any credit you have with this location will be honored at any of those locations. Please reach out to us directly with any questions about account balances/future reservations and how to use them elsewhere.”

Airport Manager Chuck Beavers said the closure came earlier this month.

They had not posted any new items on social media since Sept. 3.

Skydive Spaceland Atlanta took over the property in what was previously Skydive the Farm on Grady Road almost a decade ago, increasing the number of Skydive Spaceland locations at the time to five.

Several skydiving-related accidents were connected to Skydive Spaceland during their tenure in Polk County, including one earlier this year.
