Piedmont Hwy., 100 cutoff & Canal Street now connected without four-way stop
Good news for drivers who have having to wait for a slowpoke to get through the intersection: a roundabout will be finished soon enough by GDOT contractors, bringing the first such traffic pattern to the county limits.
Work has been underway since last year preparing the groundwork for the intersection change from a four-way stop to the roundabout, which requires drivers to yield before entering to the right and circle to their desired turnoff.

The new traffic pattern connects Piedmont Highway, Canal Street, the Hwy. 100 cutoff and Adamson Road.
The only local connection to the intersection is the installation of lighting around the intersection for nighttime drivers to see it coming, which required the County Commission several years ago to approve a contract with Georgia Power to provide the lighting.
