Rockmart City Manager Jeff Ellis is being honored for 40 years of service in local government during the City Council’s June regular session set to start at 7 p.m. at city hall.
Ellis will be honored alongside Adam Jay “AJ” Brumbelow, who has put in five years of service with the City of Rockmart amid the other business of the council, which includes a lone delegation asking for consideration of raising money for the Shrine Hospitals, the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer and much more.
The Council will be hearing first on the night from Harold McDurmon, who is seeking the city’s permission to have Shrine members raise money at intersections for the Shrine Hospital. They’ll also be making the final consideration of a change to the city’s charter to add the Chief Financial Officer prior to making the appointment, and revise the duties of the City Clerk in the process.
Rockmart also is looking at re-adoption of the Urban Development Plan, re-appointment of the city clerk after making the changes to the charter, and making amendments to the Taxi Cab ordinance locally.
A request to consider a Georgia Environmental Finance Agency loan, along with a resolution to amend the personnel policy are among the final items on the agenda for the evening, beside hearing from the council and city administration.
