REPORT: Woman wanted to play ding-dings, instead busted for meth

Deborah West

A woman found parked at a local gas station at the pumps after it was closed thought she was going to get a chance to play on the ding ding machines, but instead found herself going to the Polk County Jail over the weekend.

Deborah West, 59, of a Cedartown-area address, was taken into custody in the early morning hours of Sunday morning, June 30, 2024 at the Bee Rite convenience store at the intersection of Adamson Road and Prior Station Road on a charge of loitering and another for possession of methamphetamine.

When approached around 1 a.m. at the pumps with her car door open on Sunday morning, West told officers she was moving items around in her vehicle to get back in and had only been there for around five minutes. She additionally told police she believed Bee Rite was open, and had planned to play the “ding-ding machines.”

She also told police she thought it was already July 4, and that’s when officers became suspicious she might be under the influence of a narcotic.

West gave police the chance to search the car and they were able to locate a bag of suspected meth inside the vehicle and took her into custody without further incident.

She remained in custody on the felony drug charge and misdemeanor loitering charge without bond set as of this posting.
