A Temple woman remained behind bars on multiple felony charges after she admitted to police that she tried to toss away a pill bottle before her car could be searched amid a traffic stop on Blue Hole Road on Tuesday, according to Rockmart Police reports.
Kristan Kayla Boswell, 33, of a Temple, Georgia address, remained in the Polk County Jail as of this posting on a $13,050 bond after police initially tried to stop her traveling on South Piedmont Avenue toward Atlanta Highway with a busted tail light not long after midnight on Tuesday, December 13.
Boswell continued onward onto Blue Hole Road where she stopped for officers, and while police went through the motions of the traffic stop noticed that she was acting extremely nervous, to the point “I could see her heartbeat through her shirt,” the reporting officer noted.
Police asked if they could search the vehicle, and while waiting for additional officers to assist on the scene continued the procedures for the traffic stop. They were ready to give her a warning for the tail light issue and no proof of insurance, but one of the officers asked “if she threw a pill bottle” away from her.
Officers detained her and admitted she had tried to ditch the bottle while police were about to search her car, and that the pills inside were Xanax and Lortabs.
A relative came and claimed the vehicle before Boswell was taken to the Polk County Jail, where she remained on felony and misdemeanor charges.
She was being held on the above bond for sale, manufacture, deliver or possess dangerous drugs, two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, a charge of possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, tampering with evidence, and no operating brake lights/signals.
