REPORT: Woman had Fentanyl, Oxycodone during PCPD stop

Deaja Simone Clemmons

A Cedartown woman was booked after she was found with Fentanyl and Oxycodone during a traffic stop during an Aragon-area traffic stop by the Polk County Police, reports stated.

Deaja Simone Clemmons, 28, of a Cedartown address, was booked into custody at the Polk County Jail on Tuesday evening, April 9, by Polk County Police officers.

Per the report, Clemmons was stopped for a window tint violation after being spotted driving north on Highway 101 near Portland Road. She pulled into the Dollar General for the traffic stop and when an officer approached the car, they noted they could smell marijuana coming strongly from inside the car.

Police got her out of the car due to the odor, and instead of finding marijuana they found 15.5 grams of pills that were reported to be Fentanyl, and a Tylenol bottle that had Oxycodone inside.

Clemmons was taken into custody without further incident.

After the car was towed to the Polk County Police Department after the drugs were found, police also located nearly $4,000 in cash ($3,922) and a keychain sized digital scale.

“It is common in the narcotics trade for traffickers to have large amounts of
narcotics along with an operational digital scale and large sum of U.S. currency, which is displayed in this case,” the report noted.

Clemmons remained in custody with no bond set as of this posting.

Edit to add: Clemmons was charged with felonies for two counts of manufacture/distribute/deliver/administer/sale/possess with intent to distribute controlled substance, two counts possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana or methamphetamine, possession of tools for the commission of a crime and misdemeanor affixing materials that reduce or increase light transmission/reflectance of windows/windshield.
