Polk County Police arrested a woman on charges of drug and paraphernalia possession early Thursday morning after a K-9 search turned up narcotics in her car at Cowboys between Cedartown and Rockmart.
Reports stated that officers arrested Tiffany Lee Collins, 31, of a Cedartown-area address after she was reported late on Wednesday night asleep in her car at the Highway 278 gas station.
An officer knocked on her window upon arrival finding her slumped between the steering wheel and the door and woke her up. She was unable to “make sense of her words while speaking,” and couldn’t tell officers if she was under the influence. She began to cry and told police she only wanted to go home.
Polk County Police suspected something might be in the car and called for a Rockmart Police K-9 officer on duty at the time to come to the gas station and conduct a search. K-9 Thor showed up with his handler and Collins was asked to step out of the car.
A search of the car turned up a bag of marijuana, three bags of methamphetamine and a glass pipe in various areas around the car. Collins was also ran through field sobriety tests and unable to pass them.
Police took her into custody without further incident and she was booked into the Polk County Jail early Thursday morning.
Cowboys employees asked for the car to be towed following Collins’ arrest.
Collins remains in jail on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine, and a misdemeanor charge of possession and use of drug-related objects. No bond was set as of this posting.
