Report: Woman driving on suspended license arrested on warrants

Alisha Suzanne McCullough

A woman was jailed on active warrants and driving when not allowed to after police conducted a traffic stop in Rockmart on Thursday evening, according to reports.

Alisha Suzanne McCullough, 46, of 806 Polk St., Rockmart, was jailed on Thursday night around 9:30 p.m. after being pulled over for not having the correct tag and was taken into custody for driving on a suspended license and other active warrants, and was later released on a $7,700 bond.

Rockmart police spotted a 2004 Buick LeSabre with a temporary tag that was supposed to be for a red 2021 Toyota Corolla near the intersection of West Church Street and Gordon Street, and found McCullough behind the wheel. The reporting officer stated that law enforcement was familiar with McCullough, who told police that she was only trying to get home and “just could not deal with this.”

On the scene, police ran her information through state and national information systems and found that she had active warrants for misdemeanor deposit account fraud (bad checks) no more than $1,499, felony theft by deception and misdemeanor fourth degree forgery.

McCullough was taken into custody and additionally charged with a misdemeanor for driving while license suspended or revoked.

She only spent a day in jail.
