Report: Woman backed into vehicle in Taco Bell line in Cedartown, was found at home with .2 BAC

Cedartown Police reported that a woman who was found at home drunk was responsible for backing into a car in the Taco Bell line, and then fled the scene according to reports.

Police arrested Shannon Rae Meyer, 48, of 401 Main St. Apt. B, Cedartown, at home on Thursday evening, June 10 around 6:30 p.m. when they found her vehicle parked at the apartments after the driver she struck in the Taco Bell line gave officers a full license plate number to help find her.

According to the report, she had backed into a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon in her 2001 Toyota Highlander and took off before exchanging information with the other driver. Officers found the Highlander parked on the street.

Per the police report, Meyer admitted that she was at fault for the wreck when officers arrived at her apartment. When asked if she had taken any medication or drank anything, she denied both.

While being taken into custody, police reported she had difficulty standing and appeared to be intoxicated. After being taken to a patrol vehicle, she consented to a breathalyzer test and blew a result of .200.

She was checked out due to the wreck at Polk Medical Center for injuries and was ultimately booked at the jail without further incident.

Meyer was charged with misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence with a concentration higher than .08g within 3 hours or more, failure to report an accident with injury/death/damage, and hit and run; duty of driver to stop at or return to scene of accident.

She was later released on a $4,200 bond.
