A Cedartown woman was denied bond after she admitted to police that she cut another woman during an assault early on Thursday morning on Jones Street, according to Cedartown Police reports.

Officers arrested Tanya Yvette Hutchinson, 50, of a Cedartown address on a felony aggravated assault charge after she was approached by officers after speaking to the victim.

According to the report, Hutchinson and the victim became involved in an altercation sometime before police were called to Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center just before 2:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The victim told police she was cut her face and chest during the incident, and called upon a relative to come and take her to the hospital for treatment.

Hutchinson was taken into custody without further incident.

She remains in the Polk County Jail as of this posting.
