Polk County Police arrested two who were found in a car on the Pinhoti Trail off Cave Spring Road off Highway 100 with drugs in the vehicle, according to reports.
Jennifer Renee Carter and Bryan Ray Folsom were found by officers on Thursday, September 26, around 10:30 a.m. inside a vehicle on a part of the trail where vehicle traffic isn’t allowed. They claimed they were just their to hike as they did regularly, but police suspected something else was up.
Cedartown Police also came out to help, and officers noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The pair blamed it on a “roach” inside the car, and they were asked to step out for a search.
Police found the “roach” inside of Carter’s purse, where she admitted it was being hidden. The search continued and police found “multiple smoking devices” and a bag of methamphetamine in their belongings.
Both Folsom and Carter pointed the finger at each other for who was responsible for the meth discovered during the search, so officers charged both of them with drug possession.
They were taken onward to jail without further incident.
Folsom, 43, of a Centre, Alabama address and Carter, 52, of a Cave Spring address, were both booked on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession and use of drug-related objects.
They both had a bond of $6,000 in place and were both still in jail as of this posting.
