Police took two men into custody on Monday after the pair were accused of a burglary of a house and attempted to get away with collectable Star Wars figurines.
Polk County Police charged Cody Brock, 30, and Jason Lance Glenn, 42, after Glenn was caught not long after police arrived at the Hutto Road residence on Monday, July 15 to investigate.
An officer found him in the woods around the property and was identified by someone at the residence. Near where Glenn was stopped, police found a garbage bag that had two Star Wars action figures in their original boxes, having been purchased for the homeowner’s son.
Police made contact with the property owner, who wanted to press charges against Glenn for the attempted theft.
Just over an hour later, police caught up with Brock who was spotted by a witness leaving the wooded area around the residence and began walking away on Highway 27.
PCPD were able to catch up with Brock, whose sweaty clothes, scratches and a thorn in his left eyebrow which he explained was from “climbing a hill near the residence.” Officers got a description from the witness of the potential second suspect, and it matched up with what Brock was wearing when he was found by officers.
The two were both carried off to the Polk County Jail and each charged with a felony count of burglary in the first degree.
Bond was denied for Glenn, while Brock awaited a hearing as of this posting to determine whether he will have bail set.
