A teen was charged with a misdemeanor after during a “fuss” he is alleged to have taken his mom’s phone and hid it before she could call 911 to come help control a situation that was getting out of control, according to reports.
Before anyone could get hurt, police reported that River Blake Forsyth, 17, of an Aragon area address, took off after he was reported to have gotten in his mother’s face several times, forcing her to shove him away and drop a 12 pack of Coca-Colas on their porch, which officers observed when arriving on the scene.
When his mom threatened to call police when Forsyth continued to act as if he was going to get physical, he took her phone and ran off.
Ultimately another relative got Forsyth on the phone and convinced him to come home and speak with officers.
Police reported the “fussing began” over missing money while mom and son were at the store, and continued on their way home. Forsyth did admit to taking the phone, but said he ran inside and hid it in his mother’s bed. He denied ever putting his hands on his mother.
Forsyth was taken into custody on a single misdemeanor charge of hindering/obstruction of a 911 call.
No booking information was immediately available, though he was processed into the Polk County Jail on Wednesday.
