A Cedartown area was jailed and later released on a child molestation charge, according to reports.

Polk County Police issued warrants for the arrest of Jake Mathew Hopkins, 18, of a Cedartown address, was charged with misdemeanor child molestation after a complaint was made on July 29, 2023.

The original complaint was taken at the Polk County Sheriffs Office by a PCPD officer and forwarded over to detectives to complete an investigation.

No further information was available in the PCPD report about the incident.

Hopkins was booked into custody on Monday, August 14 on the single charge.

Per jail records, he was released on the misdemeanor charge after a $3,000 bond was posted.
