REPORT: Man wanted got away in chase, but ultimately found

John Lamar Langston

A man who was spotted driving on the FLOCK Camera System known to have a probation violation warrant got away during a brief chase with officers in previous days, but was found before the month was over and taken into custody.

John Lamar Langston, 42, of a Cedartown-area address, was taken into custody on Wednesday, October 30 after he was able to get away from police last week on October 21 during a brief chase.

Per a brief report, Langston was spotted on the FLOCK camera behind the wheel of a vehicle with a license plate that didn’t belong to it. An PCSO deputy noted they had knowledge of an active probation violation warrant and waited for Langston to drive by again on John Hand Road in a local church parking lot.

Langston went by, and police tried to pull him over only to speed up for a getaway. He was reported to have gone airborne briefly behind the wheel of his Infiniti M37 sedan at the intersection of John Hand Road and North Main Street.

During the Oct. 21 chase, Langston got away from the view of the deputy after driving in opposing lanes of traffic and running the stop sign at College Circle at John Hand Road.

Reports from the Polk County Sheriffs Office did not include details about his Oct. 30 arrest.

Langston remained in custody at the Polk County Jail as of this posting on a $15,000 bond.

He was charged with felonies for probation violation and fleeing or attempting to elude police, and misdemeanor charges including driving while license suspended or revoked, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, too fast for conditions, speeding in excess of maximum limits, passing in a no passing zone, failure to stop at stop sign and removing or affixing license plate with intent to conceal or misrepresent.
