A post on the Polk Vent Page prompted further investigation and found that a man recently arrested alongside his family for fighting with police over a warrant was resisting arrest again during a Thursday evening incident, reports stated.
The posting sent to Polk Today as a screenshot contained the following information:

Polk County Police had a different explanation of the incident.
They arrested Ronald Colt Blackmon, 31, of a Rockmart address, encountered officers just after 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 30 when he was found standing in the middle of South Piedmont Avenue near Elm Street “pointing at a car screaming vulgar language.”
Blackmon was told by the officer who got out with the situation he encountered and was cussed at by Blackmon who walked away from the officer down Piedmont Avenue.
Police tried again to get Blackmon to stop, eventually turning back around as the officer followed. The officer grabbed Blackmon and told him he was being detained because of his behavior, but resisted.
The officer reported that he “escorted the male (Blackmon) to the ground by using my right leg to sweep his left leg out from under him, resulting in him (losing) his balance.”
Blackmon continued to struggle, and a Rockmart officer in the area hearing the call on the radio arrived to assist before Blackmon was finally cuffed and taken into custody.
Police previously encountered Blackmon and the rest of his family in a December arrest where officers were attempting to serve a warrant on him, while the rest of his family tried to prevent his arrest by Polk County Police.
Blackmon was charged with a single count of obstruction of law enforcement officers, pedestrian must stay on sidewalk/shoulder, and disorderly conduct.
He remained in custody on a $3,000 bond.
