
Polk County Police executed a warrant last Sunday and came up with drugs, cash and guns when they sought out a man who also faced previous charges, according to reports.
Officers arrested Quintel Daquan Garrett, 30, of a Cedartown address at his home when they sought to find him for past warrants. The search warrant they conducted on Sunday morning, April 28, yielded not just Garrett but a lot of contraband as well.
Garrett was found in possession of several bags of marijuana totaling up to 47 grams, a jar of marijuana, scattered marijuana on a plate, two sets of scales, a vacuum sealer, $589 in cash (including $189 in one dollar bills banded together) and Glock 26 9mm handgun, plus several magazines of 9mm, 45 caliber and other assorted ammunition.
Police also found two different phones they believed were used for drug trafficking.
Garrett was booked into the Polk County Jail on felony charges for two counts of possession of cocaine, two counts of sale of a controlled substance, two counts of use of a communication facility in committing or facilitating a felony act, two counts of marijuana – purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale, possession of a firearm by convicted felon or first offender and possession of a schedule I controlled substance.
He was later released on a $59,000 bond on the multiple charges.
