Polk County Police arrested a man who was nearly twice the legal limit while walking down the roadway heading to the store for ‘more beer,’ according to a report over the weekend.
An officer arrested Noah Charles Tordrup, 32, of an Aragon address, was jailed on Friday evening, March 21 after he was reported walking down the roadway and on the side of Collard Valley Road near the intersection of Highway 101. He was spotted in a ditch and relieving himself, per the report.
Police caught up with him not far from that intersection at Old Rome Road and Collard Valley Road.
“I observed Tordrup to be uneasy on his feet as well as it appeared that he was having a hard time to walk in an upright position,” the report noted.
Tordrup told officers he was heading to the store for more beer, and claimed he only had two before beginning his trip to the store. PCPD got him to agree to give a breath sample, and the PBT came back with a reading of .154 grams – nearly double the legal limit to drive.
Police immediately took him into custody without further incident.
Tordrup was charged with misdemeanors for pedestrian under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and pedestrian must walk on sidewalk/shoulder.
He was released on Saturday on a $720 bond.
