Update:
Georgia State Patrol said the driver of a Cadillac Escalade lost control of the vehicle that crashed into a tree off the roadway on Highway 278 Monday evening, according to information sent to Polk Today on Tuesday.
Information about their condition wasn’t immediately available, but the two occupants of the vehicle were taken to Floyd Medical Center for injuries sustained in the wreck.
Per GSP’s report so far as the investigation was still underway as of Tuesday, Troopers responded to the wreck along with local emergency personnel when the Cadillac Escalade crashed. It was traveling eastbound when the driver was reported to have lost control, went off the roadway, and then struck a tree.
Check back for additional updates on the wreck as they become available. Georgia State Patrol has been sought for additional information on the occupants.

Georgia State Patrol was called into work a wreck just inside the Cedartown Police jurisdiction this evening on Highway 278 at the Grady Road Landfill, according to Police Chief Jamie Newsome.
A one-vehicle wreck in the area occurred around 7 p.m., per Newsome, and sent at least one to the hospital with what he described as “seriously injured.”
No additional details were immediately available.
Georgia State Patrol remained on the scene.
