A family of four tried to keep Polk County Police from serving a warrant on Thursday morning for one of the group, and everyone ended up in cuffs for struggling with officers during the incident, per reports.
Officers arrested Ronald David Blackmon, 66; Robyn Blackmon, 59; Joshua Alan Blackmon, 32; and Ronald Colt Blackmon, 31, all of a Rockmart address, after PCPD arrived on Thursday morning, December 12, just before 10 a.m. to serve a warrant from Floyd County on Ronald Colt Blackmon.
When officers arrived, they encountered father Ronald David Blackmon who came outside to talk to police, went indoors for a moment and came back out claiming he had “already paid off the warrant.” He additionally told police they had no “jurisdiction at their residence” and then tried to walk back inside.
Police attempted to stop Ronald David Blackmon from going back into the house, and a struggle ensued between officers and Blackmon as they tried to place him in handcuffs. Then Joshua came out and pushed an officer, and began his own struggle with police attempting to help his father.
Moments later, Ronald Colt Blackmon came out to try and stop the fighting between officers and his family members, but before he could be taken into custody his mother Robyn Blackmon came out of the house and stood between officers and her son.
Police continued struggling with Ronald David and Joshua Blackmon before they took Robyn to the ground as well, and all four were cuffed and taken to the Polk County Jail.
All four remained in custody as of this posting.
Ronald David Blackmon remains in jail on a $1,400 bond on a felony count of obstruction of law enforcement officers and four misdemeanor counts of obstruction of law enforcement officers.
Joshua Alan Blackmon and Robyn Blackmon were both charged with a single misdemeanor count of obstruction of law enforcement officers. Their bond was also set at $1,400.
Ronald Colt Blackmon has two counts of obstruction of law enforcement officers as misdemeanor charges alongside his warrant from Floyd County, and he remained in custody without bond set.
